Yeah, like having a judicial system that is so racist it actually stands out amid the usual injustices and quickly-swept-under-the-rug acts of terrorism on the parts of the NY and LAPD is not a problem, or that your kids are prone to hanging nooses about the place as a "joke".

At this point it's the sheer blatantness of the whole "nice" "polite" "eloquent" "civil" code-wordpalooza that pisses me off, I know they're lying, I've been lied to before by other liars and bigots using those exact words, and they are not even words that could, even jokingly, be considered particularly subtle code words, because those words so consistently and routinely are used to excuse fucked up actions* that I have no idea what you're trying to achieve...

NOTE: Aristrocracy means "rule by the best", Meritocracy means (roughly, give or take a neologism) "Rule by those who deserve to".
NOTE: both are used as after the fact and hugely revisionist bullshit phrases to validate and normalise dysfunctional systems.
NOTE: both descriptions' failure to go into anything about the method by which they are "aristocracies" - even with the still really vague term "democracy" you know that a system that is not a democracy is one which does not actually entertain rule by "the people", even if that does leave legalese wriggle room for careful definitions of who are "the people" - and this therefore leaves a huge aching gap wherein can be placed any system you like.

While ignoring the teeny tiny point that no system has ever existed where people sat down and actually worked out a way to intentionally ensure that only the worst and most incompetent were given power to rule countries (which means that the term "meritocratic" is completely redundant, as all systems have set out to be so, but are not for various reasons).

Though countless groups of "well meaning" people with quite... err... loudly stated... "good" "intent" have managed to consistently ensure that such a wankocracy has existed - in so far as people who are most prone to assure their critics that they "meant well" and are most likely to describe their system as a "meritocracy" are quite spectacularly prone to being complete and utter shitheads who shoudn't legally be allowed within a hundred yards of a kindagarten, let alone allowed to run a country or two.

All current systems are revisionocractic in nature, reliant on the lies and carefully censured histories that support the validity of their adminstrations and rules.

A working system will, by definition, not be so.
